As Indians, Pongal (celebrated in various forms like Makar Sankranti or Bihu) represents the diverse yet unified spirit of our nation. It is a time when we set aside professional titles to embrace our roles as sons and daughters of this fertile land. • The Ritual: We began by lighting the Kuthu Vilakku, followed by the traditional cooking of Pongal. As the milk overflowed, our collective voices rose in the chant of "Pongalo Pongal!"—a prayer for abundance in all our lives.
