BOSIET WITH EBS
Aim
The aim of the BOSIET with Emergency Breathing System (EBS) course is to provide delegates with the essential safety and emergency response knowledge and practical skills required for travelling to and working on offshore oil and gas installations. The course prepares personnel for offshore helicopter travel where a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS) is provided and develops the competence required to respond effectively to offshore emergencies.
Course Objective
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to: • Identify common offshore hazards and understand the controls used to reduce associated risks. • Understand offshore safety procedures and emergency response arrangements. • Follow helicopter safety and emergency procedures. • Demonstrate helicopter underwater escape techniques while using an Emergency Breathing System (EBS). • Apply appropriate sea survival techniques and emergency actions. • Demonstrate basic first aid procedures. • Respond safely to fire emergencies using basic firefighting equipment. • Demonstrate self-rescue techniques in reduced-visibility and emergency situations.
Target Audience
This course is designed for personnel who are new to, or returning to, the offshore oil and gas industry and who require initial offshore safety and emergency response training. It is particularly suitable for personnel who will travel to and from offshore installations by helicopter and will be issued with a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS) during helicopter travel.
