Aim

The HUET with Emergency Breathing System (EBS) course is designed to prepare personnel travelling to offshore installations by helicopter to respond safely and effectively to helicopter emergencies. The training provides delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to manage pre-flight, in-flight and emergency ditching situations while using a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS).

Course Objective

On successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to: • Understand essential offshore helicopter safety procedures and emergency actions. • Use helicopter safety and emergency equipment correctly. • Demonstrate the correct use of a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS). • Respond appropriately during a simulated helicopter emergency and ditching. • Demonstrate safe evacuation from a simulated helicopter following a controlled ditching. • Apply practical underwater escape techniques in a safe and controlled training environment.

Target Audience

This course is intended for personnel who are new to or returning to offshore helicopter travel and who are required to demonstrate the appropriate helicopter emergency response and underwater escape competencies before travelling to offshore installations. It is suitable for offshore personnel who may be required to travel by helicopter and use a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS) during helicopter transportation.
