Aim

To introduce essential oil and gas industry safety principles, strengthen hazard awareness, and encourage personal responsibility for workplace safety.

Course Objective

On completion, learners will understand the fundamental safety principles covered in nine mandatory units: 1.Hazardous Environments 2.Working Safely 3.Risk Assessment 4.Permit to Work 5.Asset Integrity 6.Manual Handling 7.Controlling the Use of Hazardous Substances 8.Working at Height 9.Mechanical Lifting

Target Audience

New entrants to the oil and gas industry and existing personnel who need to maintain their understanding of essential workplace safety practices.

Delegate pre-requisites

There are no formal entry requirements or specific medical requirements for the IMIST course. However, personnel must hold a current offshore medical certificate before working offshore.
