Aim

The aim of the Tropical BOSIET with Emergency Breathing System (EBS) training is to provide personnel who are new to, or returning to, the offshore oil and gas industry with the essential safety knowledge and emergency response skills required to work and travel safely to offshore installations in a tropical environment. The training prepares learners for offshore helicopter travel and emergency situations, including the correct use of a rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS). It also develops competence in helicopter escape, sea survival, first aid, firefighting and self-rescue techniques.

Course Objective

Upon successful completion of the Tropical BOSIET with EBS training, learners will be able to: Identify common hazards associated with offshore installations and understand the controls used to reduce or eliminate risks. Recognise key offshore safety regulations and understand basic safety management principles. Demonstrate the correct use of the Emergency Breathing System (EBS). Follow the appropriate safety procedures before and during offshore helicopter travel. Demonstrate the correct actions to take during simulated helicopter emergency and ditching situations. Safely escape from a simulated helicopter following ditching. Demonstrate essential sea survival techniques. Apply basic first aid procedures during emergency situations. Use basic firefighting equipment effectively. Demonstrate appropriate self-rescue techniques in low-visibility and smoke-filled environments.
